Meet our Director of Peer Support Services, Lauren Scott

Lauren provides leadership to all of MHI's peer support programs and initiatives. She knows first hand what it means to both manage and supervise peer supporters in a variety of settings and how to support them through the challenges they face in their role.

Lauren has played a pivotal role in the expansion of our virtual peer support training which will soon be opened to the public. She is also one of MHI's dynamic lead training facilitators!

"One of the best parts of my job is delivering peer support training. The reason why this aspect of my job is so rewarding for me is that I get to meet and build relationships with aspiring peer supporters or peer supporters who are growing in their practice.

We hear so much negativity in the media and it can feel heavy at times, when I spend time with people who are or want to be peer supporters, I am energized, and it renews my belief in the positivity of the world.

Peer supporters are reducing isolation and working to ensure people don’t have to travel the road alone, someone who has been there can walk alongside. Every time I wrap up a peer support training session, I leave inspired."

Details and registration for our upcoming peer support training course will soon be made available, so stay tuned!
